To Clear Up Any Confusion…

Animal testing is not required by law.  It is a industry standard.  It is important to understand the difference between these two symbols:

1.

and

2.

—-

1.  This symbol tells the consumer that this product is not tested on animals.  And that is it exactly.  It is important to understand that this means the product was not tested on animals, but the individual ingredients COULD have been.

2.  This is the leapingbunny.org symbol (the symbol which the blog is named after) created by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) in 1996.  CCIC is a crew of several different parties working together to make a new industry standard.  The symbol means that the product is 100% cruelty free, including ingredients.

In short, there are many different ‘bunny’ symbols out on the consumer market today that may confuse you.  Making a conscious decision to look for the second symbol will ensure that you are using products that did not harm, or cause suffering towards any animal.

Welcome!

I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

I can’t leave the house without makeup on.  Okay, maybe not the best secret to tell.  I have had a personal blog for many moons, and I have now chosen to expand my blog interests to reach more people who are interested in beauty.

Just as many other individuals in society, I have found a considerable love for many consumer cosmetics, beauty products, and the latest fashion.  I have also found a considerable love for compassionate living - a vegan lifestyle.  These two subcultures collide now and again, but it IS possible for them to live harmoniously.

I do not accept the thought that animals have to suffer in the name of beauty, fashion, food, etc., and this blog is dedicated to anyone who agrees.  For those reading, you will see product reviews, photos, and links to vegan beauty.  There will also be submissions available to anyone to use.

- See you soon!
